It's supposed to be around 40 degrees this weekend, and I'd like to work on a project that requires drilling some holes in concrete. Is there a risk in drilling during cold weather? cracking, but if you go slow at it it will be ok, squirt some water in the hole once in a while, [keeps the heat down] If you are thinking that cold concrete is likely to crack when drilled, you can rest easy. The only risk you run is getting cold yourself. However, do not under any circumstances apply the metal drill to your tongue. Remember what happened when you were a kid right?!no problemNO issue at all, I have been working on job sites functionally out doors every winter, for the last 6 years. I have never had an issue trying to drill in concrete in the cold.... maybe with my fingers getting cold. The work i do is all industrial and heavy commerical, everything is steel or concrete.Only to the driller.Yes there are risks, wear gloves, a face shield, work clothes and a hat. Also work boots. That should take care of the risks. If you meant about the concrete, no real problems, cool the bit with 50/50 mix of acetic acid and universal solvent. If that is hard to locate, try your kitchen cupboard for vinegar and tap water. #If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
